A number of exciting contests will be held at GeekFest 2018. All of these contests will take place on the day - there is no need to send in entry forms or drop things off before the event.
Miniature Painting:

- All miniatures must be painted at the GeekFest 2018 Paint+Take venue.
- All paint jobs must be your own work - no collaborations!
- All miniatures in the Paint+Take display area at 1600 are eligible.
- The contest is divided into Junior (Under 16 as of January 21st, 2018) and Open (16 and over as of January 21st, 2018) classes.
- Prizes will be awarded for First, Second and Third place in both Junior and Open for Best Painted.
- Encouragement awards will also be awarded for cool paint jobs and ideas regardless of execution.
- You must be present at the Paint+Take venue at 1615 to collect prizes.
- Any uncollected miniatures will be taken home by the organisers and repainted in vile and garish colours.
Cosplay:
- Prizes will be awarded for First, Second, and Third.
- Judging will take place at the Pig and Whistle Cafe Verandah at 1300 sharp.
Steampunk Costume:
- Junior and Senior categories
- Prizes will be awarded for First, Second, Best Showmanship and Best Group.
- Judging will take place at the Pig and Whistle Cafe Verandah at 1315 sharp.
Dr. Who Costume:
- Junior and Senior categories
- Prizes will be awarded for First, Second, and Third
- Judging will take place at the Pig and Whistle Cafe Verandah at 1330 sharp.
Facebook Photo:
- Post a photo of the event to Facebook.
- Prizes for First, Second and Third places.
- Winners will be notified by email within two weeks of the event.
Children's Colouring:
- Colouring will be running all day at the station.
- Prizes for First, Second and Third places.
